Colossians 3:15

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

I’d like to take a moment first and wish my daughter a Happy 14th Birthday! Talk about something worth being thankful for. She is one of the best gifts God has ever bestowed upon me. Peace doesn’t just happen; we have to choose it. We each are commissioned by the Lord to decide what will lead our hearts and minds. Will it be anxiety; will it be frustration? Or will it be hope; will it be peace? Do not rely on your circumstances to always go your way; don’t expect all the stars to magically align. That will not lead to peace. Strive for a thankful heart, and look for motives to express appreciation while looking for your next step; trust that God has good things planned for you. We, as humans, have a tendency to focus on the things that go wrong. A million things can go right, but one thing goes wrong and we focus on that one thing and completely ignore the other million things that went right. Trust in the goodness of God and your heart will forever be overflowing with peace. It will not only uphold you, it will have a positive impact upon those around you. We have so much to be thankful for. Don’t let the one outweigh the many. Let the many things we can be grateful for fill your heart with peace.
