So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
If you were to ask people “what’s your biggest fear?” I guarantee you that you’d receive an abundance of answers. Fear is universal. Every person on this planet deal with things that scare them. So how can we possibly “fear not?” The answer…it’s okay to fear, but know that God’s presence is going to give you freedom from your fears. You first must acknowledge your fear. Only when you acknowledge it, can you truly face it. God is aware of our fears and he cares about each and every fear that we have. And He is not disappointed when we fear. If you are a parent, have you ever been disappointed when your child fears? Same concept applies. So how do we defeat fear? Remember these things:
God’s promise that He will never leave us. God is never surprised by our circumstances. God can resolve your circumstances for good. Stop asking your “why did this happen to me?” Remind yourself of all the good things He has already done for you. Remember that God is bigger than any fear you may have. Pray and visualize yourself placing your fear in God’s hands. God loves us and will protect His children.
He tells us not to fear because He knows that your fears are not too difficult for Him. He is the master of impossible.
