Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
We live under a God of new things. He wishes for us to make all things new…for ourselves. God calls us to look to Him, not our circumstances. He wants us to focus on freedom in Him, not our perceived enslavement to this world. Stop looking behind. Stop expecting your past victories to sustain you. Quit allowing your past failures to continue to hold you back. Start looking ahead. See that God brings all things new. Know in your heart that God is going to do something good in your life. When you do this, He promises to remove all obstacles that are in the path to Him. Whatever’s holding you back today…misguided thoughts, past mistakes, failed relationships…Jesus already died for them. We no longer need to be burdened by them. Put Christ first and let him make all things new for you too.
