John 1:9–10

The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him.

When we are in fellowship with God, the light of God shines on us. When this light is shining on us, the dark areas in our lives are exposed. Our sinful acts are exposed. When this happens, our conscience will accuse us before God for our sins. Our conscience will demand the full punishment for our sins. Once we see our sins, we must address the demands of our conscience, we must repent our sins. If we do not repent, the fellowship of life stops and we are no longer in fellowship with God. If we repent, the blood of Jesus is sprinkled on our conscience and our sins are forgiven. Once the blood has done its cleansing, the anointing of God comes and moves on those areas where the blood was sprinkled. The anointing deposits the holy elements of God in those areas. This is how we are renewed in our mind and transformed in our soul. Once the anointing has done its job, the light of God increases in us, the light shines more and more and the fellowship of life continues. With the light shinning, we can now see other areas of darkness in us. We can repent and confess our sins, the blood will be sprinkled again and the anointing will do its job again. This fellowship will continue in the same way until Jesus comes.
