Romans 12:12

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

To be joyful in hope is to have that unwavering assurance in God’s Word as fact. Knowing that our hope of glory is secured for us in heavenly places, simply because God’s Word is true and cannot be broken. Our hope is built on nothing less than trusting in God and taking Him at His Word. To be patient in affliction is to know and accept that in this world we will have tribulation. But, we must wait patiently in our suffering without complaining. We are to be of good cheer, knowing that His strength is sufficient to see us through every difficult circumstance of life. For He has already overcome sin and death. To be faithful in prayer is to recognize that prayer is one of the primary weapons of spiritual warfare. As followers of God we should all be quick to prayer, constantly lifting our hearts and voices to the Lord in thanks and praise…and requests, laying them before God knowing that greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. May we live a life that is pleasing to the Lord. And may Christ be seen in me, and also in you.
