Romans 8:24-25

For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

Hope and patience are intertwined. Hope is the spiritual gift that allows our eyes to focus on the goal of our faith, which is our eternal life with God in Paradise. Patience is the spiritual gift that enables us to endure our excursions in this world. What does it mean to wait eagerly? It means that our waiting is not passive but active. We understand that our time on this earth is a time of preparation. We know that as we journey through life, we will face a series of challenges, trials, and tribulations that will strengthen us, shape our faith, and prepare us for our role in the Kingdom of Heaven. Patience enables us to endure. Hope saves us because it inspires us to prepare ourselves for the return of Jesus Christ. On that day, we will no longer need hope or patience because we will have our reward. Let patience and hope do their good work until the return of Christ, and then all things will be fulfilled.
